He never fails, even when we don't get it.

Luke 1:37

The question Mary asked was a reasonable one, and the essence of it was familiar - "How can this be?" What God had spoken to Mary did not make much sense in so many respects. It was physically impossible. It was socially improbable - she was not particularly well known, nor was Joseph. She was young, unmarried, etc.. Still, God had spoken.

How many times has God asked me to do the unlikely, or that which I feel ill-equipped to do? When has there really ever been anything great done that didn't require a high dose of the illogical, unreasonable or unlikely? This is where God kicks in the best. It is in those times of our uncertainty where God gets the glory because of His certainty.

Lord, I am ready. I have so many reasons to say "How can this be?" But I ask that your Holy Spirit overshadow me so that the unlikely becomes reality. This year is Yours God. Let's do this.
